Home of the Percy family and Dukes of Northumberland since 1309, alongside is the Duchess of Northumberland’s blooming marvelous creation, The Alnwick Garden, where you can dine among the treetops of The Alnwick Garden in the fairytale setting of one of the world’s largest tree houses.
Enjoy the fantastic Northumberland national park, the rugged but beautiful Northumberland coast with its many renowned beaches, Kielder Water and Forest (25 miles) for peaceful walks and cycle rides or if you’re feeling energetic why not try walking a stretch of Hadrian's Wall, the world heritage site built as a defensive fortification in Roman Britain.
The city of Newcastle and the nearby Gateshead Metro Center offer fantastic city center attractions, cinema and indoor shopping experiences for those not so good weather days.

Simondside Hills near Rothbury in Northumberland National Park is a 15-minute drive from Rothley Lodge, for an easy to moderate route offering great views of the Coquet Valley.
